Okay…so Phoenix and Chandler suck. As does all of Arizona. Please tell me a place that’s perfect.

I live in Kern County, California and the heat here comes close to Phoenix’s sweltering misery. Day after day; 101, 102, 99, 105, 108, 110, back down to 102. Day after day, week after week. My dear God, who in the hell can actually be honest and say they love that type of heat.

I’ve thought of moving to the most northerly reaches of California, or even Oregon but I don’t know — I’ve thought Seattle would be good but people complain about the rain and what’s called the Seattle Gloom or doom or whatever it’s called. That unhappy malaise, or depression that affects people living there.

So tell me. Please. Tell me a good place to live.

Mark, this is how much of a stupido people here can be. They lack simple cognitive skills to understand something. Don’t you think if we COULD leave that we’d already be gone? Of course you wouldn’t understand that or be able to reason that. We’re still here because we’re stuck here. If you don’t understand that then maybe you should learn how to read or re read the blog. That’s why we’re complaining. The state has been a major lie, a major let down – and now many of us are trapped here due to varying circumstances. Hell, if not for my husband’s job, I’d been gone the very first year. Get a clue!

Found something good about this town even if its only for a day. Jimmie Vaughan is playing the Rythm Room on Wednesday. Its a shame though, I cant afford the tickets to go because I live in this shithole making shit pay.

I have to disagree with you on that one Ryan. I have looked in this state for a job (I have a degree in accounting). Please do know I was offered multiple jobs but the pay was insulting. I was offered between 10-14 bucks an hour. I’m from Texas and guess what I applied for jobs back there and have been offered and have accepted a job making 30 dollars an hour. It does matter where you are located. Not all states are as hard hit as others have been. I have other friends that I have made while here that also have degrees in accounting and are being paid way below what they could be making in other states and are starting to seriously think of moving away. Most are transplants from out of state. I think if you have a degree in the medical fied or engineering or in the military the job market would be OK for you here and you can get a pretty good salary. The only reason I’m here is because I moved with my fiancee whom by the way has a great job as an engineer. I’m leaving he’s staying for the time being to complete having 3 years of upper management experience in his field. Yes it’s tough, but not that tough all over the U.S. I’m proof of that.
